Target Engineering Construction Company's first marine project was in 1980 when it built the ADDCAP Wharf at Saadiyat Island. This was followed by the Abu Dhabi Coast Guard Marine Base in 1984, the Das Harbour Remedial Works in 1989 and the ADGAS Construction Jetty on Das Island in 1997.
Major projects since then- include the Construction of Sea Arm for Export Jetty, RRE-7, 400 KV Overhead Transmission Line involving the construction of artificial islands in the sea; the Installation of Sub Sea Pipelines for DEWA Desalination Plant at Jabel Ali,Dubai, the Qatar - Ras Abu Fontas A1 and B1 Desalination Plants, the NGL 4 - Ruwais Sea Water Cooling System ; the Ruwais Industrial Harbour ; the Ship Lifts at Mesaieed ; the Leisure Marinas at Al Bandar (141 berths) for ALDAR; and the Dubai - Palm Jumeirah Anchor Marina (522 berths) for NAKHEEL.
In response to the rapid increase in marine reclamation and construction activities, demand for waterfront properties, the company's continued projects in Das Island and offshore areas; and the consequent need for dedicated, economical transport and marine construction vessels, the company strategically acquired several marine vessels and equipment that helped the company secure several key marine projects in the UAE and Qatar.
The Marine Division of the Company is fully equipped with more than 35 Marine vessels - dredgers, landing crafts, tug boats, transportation and construction barges with 300 tons crane, long boom excavators, vibro hammers and water jetting equipment, spuds and self-elevating platforms and several motor boats fully licensed to sail in UAE and Qatar waters. The marine fleet are supported & serviced by the Mussafah based Logistics and Maintenance Support centre. Further all underwater works are undertaken by IMCA qualified divers duly supervised and supported by Certified Decompression Chambers and Diving Stations.
Target Engineering's design capability is greatly augmented by the full ownership in IDROTEC srl, an Italian specialist design engineering company, whose services can be used for projects on priority.
